This is THE time of year that we reflect on our lives, the last 12 months and the goals moving forward. In honor of New Year’s Eve 2016 and the arrival of 2017, we put together our top 5 New Year’s Resolutions – Cabo style!
1. Meet New People
People from all over the world come to Cabo San Lucas to escape, relax and recharge. It’s also a place that people come to party! No matter your vacation style, you will find activities and places that fit you. Meet new people, if even for just an hour or a day, on a sunset cruise, snorkeling tour, or even when you’re bellying up to the pool bar.
2. Take More Chances
Vacations are meant to be an adventure. A break from the reality of day to day. Let this be the time that you dive in (literally) to a new adventure. And, if we do say ourselves, there are plenty of adventures to be had here. If you ask us, scuba diving, parasailing, ATV desert tours and even whale shark diving are the perfect way to kick off a year of excitement.
3. Stress Less
Cabo is all about slowing down, relaxing more, and enjoying the moment. When we really need to relax, we love to just lounge next to the pool, take a sunrise walk on Medano and explore one of the nearby beaches. Whatever you’re doing, just remember to be in the moment!
4. Learn a New Language
This is quite the goal. It requires a lot of time, patience and practice. So maybe we don’t aim for learning the entire Spanish language, but rather put a little effort into communicating with locals in their native language. Even if you mispronounce or get it wrong, the effort and thought behind it is what matter. A simple “hola, como esta” or “muchas gracias” can go a long way. A few other phrases we recommend:
– No Thank You > No gracias
– One more beer > Una cerveza mas
– Where is the bathroom > dónde está el baño
And when you just can’t remember how to say something, just remember: “como se dice” then ?
5. Travel More! (duh!)
We might be at Land’s End, but don’t let this be the end of your travel adventures. Make the most of your time in Cabo, escape to different areas of Los Cabos like Todos Santos, Cabo Pulmo, and San Jose del Cabo. As they said, traveling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.
