Make no mistake, we love Cabo all year round. But does it get better than fall? Does it?
As many are packing away the flip flops and bathing suits, we get to prep for some of our favorite days of the year. October in Cabo San Lucas is a lovely middle of the road month with warm temperatures that rarely hit that “too hot” spot on the thermometer. Not to mention, October and November are pre-high season months around here. Yes, it’s exactly what you’re thinking. The summer vacationers are gone, but the holiday travelers have yet to arrive!
Fall also marks the return of a few of our favorite things…
1. THE WHALES ARE ON THEIR WAY!
While migration resumes this month as these massive mammals make their way south to our peninsula. While you may spot a few whales around town, the Cabo whale watching season officially begins the end of November. There are a number of great operators to tour with. We love hopping aboard one of Aries Water Sports’ comfy boats.
2. “THE” TOURNEYS ARE BACK!
Have you been angling to join the famous Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore and Black and Blue Marlin Tournaments? Well, don’t delay in registering your team. This year, the tournaments are slated for October 19-22 and October 24-28, respectively. As you may recall, Bisbee’s Black and Blue Fishing Tournament features one of the world’s largest. In fact the 2006 payoff of $4,165,960 remains the largest ever in sportfishing history.
3. THE ART WALK RETURNS!
The San Jose del Cabo Art Walk returns yet again after their yearly summer hiatus. Los Cabos’ best local artists are on display (along with some amazing visiting artists) every Thursday evening in San Jose’s Gallery District and Historic Center. You can’t go wrong with a sunset stroll along cobblestone streets. The San Jose Art Walk runs from November to April.
4. THE REELS ARE SPINNING AGAIN
The Los Cabos Film Festival is back this November for its 6th year. This event, in particular, continues to grow in popularity and notoriety. According to the website, “The Los Cabos International Film Festival aims to positively contribute to the growth of global film culture, focusing especially on Mexico, Canada and the United States while supporting their filmmakers. Likewise, it collaborates with the encouragement and diffusion of cultural activities and tourism for Baja California Sur.” The festival runs November 8 – 12, 2017.
