Free Things to do in Cabo San Lucas

Stick to a budget and enjoy your Cabo vacation? It’s easier than you think! Here are our 5 favorite free Cabo activities!

1. Beach Hopping

Los Cabo’s incredible coastline is something to be truly enjoyed. Don’t stop at the beautiful Medano Beach, head down the Tourist Corridor and hit up some of Cabo’s other incredible stretches of sand. Our perfect (free) day of beach hopping would include: Medano Beach of course, Santa Maria’s peaceful cove and Zipper’s surf scene. Unbeatable and inexpensive.

2. San Jose del Cabo Centro Historico

San Jose del Cabo is the historical, cultural and artistic center of the Los Cabos region. For a free day, explore the quiet streets and quaint shops of San Jose. At the center point of the town is the San Jose Mission. Originally founded in 1730, the present-day church reconstructed in 1918 after a devastating hurricane. The church is open everyday with regular services continuing.

3. Chileno Tide Pools

Take the kids, pack a lunch and enjoy an amazing day at Chileno. Chileno, a certified Blue Flag Beach, is perfect for the whole family. The calm waves mean everyone can enjoy the water, while the popular tide pools are fun to explore. If you’ve packed your snorkel, don’t forget it today. Chileno is one of the most popular snokeling locations in Cabo!

4. San Jose Estuary

For a little something different head a few minutes outside of Cabo San Lucas to the beautiful, peaceful San Jose Estuary. While damaged during the 2014 Hurricane Odile, the Estuary is still the perfect spot a quiet wander.

5. Art Walk

There is nothing better than finishing off a day of exploring San Jose’s historic downtown (See #2) than with the weekly Art Walk. Completely free and always different, wander the Gallery District’s beautiful galleries and peruse the artwork from visiting artists in the main square. While not free, this is the perfect opportunity to try out one of San Jose’s great restaurants.
